Venezuela gap year

There are plenty of Venezuela Gap Yearoptions to choose from when planning your gap year travel. Venezuela is a great place to start on a South America Gap Yearas well, as the cost of flights into the country are generally cheaper than the rest of the continent.

If you are going to go on your Venezuela Gap Year, you will need some Spanish under your belt. Of course Spanish is widely spoken in most of South America (and is the most widely spoken language in the world) so it is a good idea to learn a few sentances before you go. If you do not have the time, why not consider doing an intensive language course on your Venezuela gap year?

Venezuela Gap Years are appealing for people who want to experience some exotic Carribbean beaches, as there are plenty of incredible places to lay in a hammock when you arrive. Imagine crystal clear waters and palm trees dipping into the Carribean Sea, and you have a pretty accurate picture of the place.

Well the gorgeous coastline does have its advantages, but what else is on offer on a Venezuela Gap Year? Lots and lots of adventure for one thing. There is some incredible geography in Venezuela, and it lends itself well to being explored! Plenty of acrtivities from trekking to jungle trips and of course then there is the Gran Sabana and Angel falls.

All though your Venezuela Gap year is bound to be exciting, you will probably do some onward travel – after all is would be a shame to miss out on some of the exciting countries near by. Ecuador, Brazil even Columbia all have interesting sites and things to see. A Brazil Gap Yearfor instance is a great combination, and there are lots of things you can do there too. Like learning to surf, or doing some other insanely cool activities.

Time for an Xtreme Gap Fitness Holiday.

I am needing a few months away from work from May to August, and as a consequence I would like to spend it so I reap some benefits from it. So I started exploring into exactly how to get fit on a holiday. A fitness holiday appears to have all the things I am hoping for. Losing weight, being around other men and women with the same mind set so I will not be distracted all the time and exercising every day.

OK, so I made my mind up. Three months on a fitness holiday, but what. I did not just want to be in a gym all the time, I want to see some beaches, get a tan and get to know a different culture so I started to look on the internet (I just love the internet!) and came up with some great ideas for a fitness holiday.

They had so many cool fitness holiday programmes. The ones in China, Thailand and the fitness holiday in Brazil caught my eye. These are three countries I would love to visit and it would be ideal if I can combine it with getting fit on a fitness holiday. In all three countries they had Martial arts, and I love Martial arts.

The fitness holiday in Thailand looks seriously cool, six kilometres from the world's most beautiful beaches, in the tropical rainforest with national Champions. Here you can train up to eight hours a day without distractions of parties. This might be something for me. Because if there are too many parties to visit, I will never lose my puppy fat, and then after partying and drinking I will not be able to look the Thai champion in the eye to tell him I have a hangover.

The other option for a fitness holiday I saw on their website was a fitness holiday in China. The Chinese Martial Arts is Kung Fu. Very complex but very interesting. Here you would stay at the campus with like minded people of all ages and all nationalities. No beaches around, but the fitness holiday camp is situated in a world heritage, so that is cool too. And you will have the option to learn mandarin.

But then I came across a fitness holiday in Brazil. I love Capoeira. Not that I have ever done it but it looks so cool! And have you seen those bodies? This fitness holiday programme is in Rio, close to the busiest beach in Brazil where everything that is alive looks good. I think this will be my favourite. Now all I have to do is to convince my parents to contribute in the costs.

I have the feeling my parents will be supporting me, they would love to see me on a fitness holiday to get in shape. They were very young their selves when they started travelling too so they will also support that I want to go on a fitness holiday far from home. I will get to learn more about myself as I am in a foreign country by myself.

The good thing about booking my fitness holiday through a gap year company is that they can advise me before I go, help me out with visa's and I know I will have the right support once I am out there. And I will meet lots of other gap year travellers on their fitness holiday. With these arguments I know my parents will agree on me to go, and maybe even pay for it.

Koh Tao Divemaster Course FAQ

Before you book your Thailand divemaster you might want to look the following questions and answers, these will help you to understand the programme better. The divemaster gap year programme is flexible, so if you already have diving experience or if you have less time to go on a gap year we can customise your trip.

Before you look into it further though you might want some questions clarified. You probably have a lot of questions before booking your cap year. We have put together a gap year Divemaster question and answer list.

Here we go:

Divemaster Gap Year spending money:

What amount of money do I need per month? 20 pounds a day should be enough for a great gap year. But if you are not the drinking type and you like more quiet nights you could do it for 12 pounds. During the day you will only spend some money on food and water, and trust me, that is cheap!

Back up? Do you provide help on Koh Tao if I need it?

There is a support network on Koh Tao, the rep will be there for you, give you an island orientation, take you out for dinner and introduce you to the others. The rep will be there for you whenever you need her. You dive every day and help your dive instructor daily. So you will have plenty of back up.

What do I need to bring on my divemaster gap year?

Are there shops nearby the resort? You can buy anything you need on koh Tao, and it is much cheaper than back home, so pack light! The shops are all close to the resort. You can buy souvenirs, sun lotion, mosquito repellent, swim shorts, flip flops and everything else you might need.

How much money will I spend per month during my Divemaster gap year?

We reckon you need a max. of 20 pounds a day, his is really enough for 3 meals a day and going out at night. If you have less to spend you can do it for less, if you have more to spend, just party every night and you will spend more.

If I want to do the Divemaster programme for my gap year, do I need experience in Diving? You do not need experience. But you do need to be able to swim, not excellent, but you need to be able to swim around the dive boat. The Divemaster programme of Xtreme Gap gives you plenty of time, more than most programmes. But please do realize it is a big commitment so make sure you really want to do it. 80 % of people that book their Divemaster have no prior experience.

Do I need diving experience before starting the divemaster gap year programme?

No experience is needed. You do not need to be afraid of water and you should be able to swim. The programme is 12weeks and his will give you heeps of time to practice and study well.

What kind of weather is it on Koh Tao?

Thailand is great for a gap year because the weather is always nice. Maybe except October and November, than it is rainy season. The rest of the year it is hot and sunny! And even in the rainy season you will have lots of sunshine and hot weather.

Morzine Chalet

When researching about for a Morzine Chalet for a skiing holiday next skiing season, as well as you are looking for great value yet actually comfortable housing, check out the chalet morzine named chalet du lac. A superb chalet for hire on the borders of Morzine.

I know myself, when I was looking for a chalet Morzine had alot on offer, but not all represented great value and quality at the same time. This meant that I had to look at alot of morzine chalets to finds something suitable. That was until I found this place

f like me, you hate doing lots of research on the internet to find a suitable morzine chalet, and you would rather just cut through the overly expensive poor quality chalet morzine options, then you then you would do well to check out the chalet du lac site.

People like to go skiing in a morzine chalet for different reasons, it is a great little alpine ski lovers dream, with great airport connections to Geneva, serviced by loads of low cost airlines, making the cost of getting there pretty great value too, but once you are there the skiing is excellent too

Now unless you are really lazy, there is a good probability that you are not looking to book a morzine chalet, to just sit inside all day. Well if you want some action, then Morzine will server you a healthy dose of wintersports action, and leave you begging for more. Morzine is you see, part of the portes du Solei, which happens to be the largest skiing area in Europe. That means, you can spend longer on your skis, completing new runs, and less time cuing at the ski lifts, waiting to plow down the same old runs over and over!

If you have never set foot on a pair of skis, or been on a snowboard before, then relax, Morzine has it covered. Ski coaches affiliated with all the major organsiations are readily available all season, to helo you improve your technique. Even if you are already pretty good, I found a few lessons helped alot.

If you want to know more about the area, lift passes, gear hiring or anything about the chalet morzine in general, then log on to the chalet-du-lac.com site and you can find it all on there, including a useful flash map of the morzine chalet and everything else you might need to know

In my next article I will be checking a Villa Mallorca, and finding out all there is to know about finding the prefect Mallorca Villa, for a dreamy summer holiday. Not just any old villa Mallorca either, a top notch boutique finca.

Morzine Chalet to die for

Hoping to discover a Morzine Chalet? Last season we found one on the banks of a great lake really near to the ski lift. out of the window of the Chalet you can see a beautiful lake (lac de montriond) and it was really easy to get on the slopes as the ski bus picks you up from the door. Inside the comfortable chalet you can find a cosy wood burner and lots of comfy sofas.

We had planned to go out every night but ended up staying in the chalet watching DVDs They also had alot of films there we also found ourselves strangely addicted to jenga too.

The chill out room was massive, With loads of comfy settees and chairs to relax after a day skiing and the beds were so snug that i slept like a baby.

We cooked our own dinner every night, in the well equipped kitchen, but on two night we did eat out at some lovely restaurants.

There were 8 people in our group and all of us agreed that it was the best ski holiday we have had - and we should know we always go to Morzine Chalets.

We picked this Morzine chalet online and luckily the week we wanted to go was the only week they had available. It is obviously popular as we booked in the August before the winter season!!

Morzine Chalet du lac is definitely a turn up for the books. All these years we have hired pretty boring chalets with no character: morzine chalet with not enough room to swing a cat and a long hike to the ski liftstNot this year!

to explain the Morzine Chalet...Think chocolate box alpine chalet with wooden fretwork, roaring fires and wooden beams.

Add in halogen lighting, flat screen TVs and modern artwork and you get chalet du lac - the perfect getaway from it all.

The owners have obviously though of every need as the chalet was better equipped than our house Lots of DVD's and books, with great little nooks to sit in and admire the views of the mountains and lake found right out side on the door step

We had some friends join us for dinner at the morzine chalet, We had to persuade them to leave after they wanted to set up home in there!.

they were sickened when they found out how cheap the place was to hire.I really should not be posting this as then others may find out about this awesome little chalet!

Diving on your gap year

Become a Gap year diver how to choose the right gap year diving course for you.

Selecting a Gap year diving programme is possibly the greatest fun you can have on yougap year.
Many options are open to you if you wanted to becomea gap year diver and many gap year diving destinations to pick from.

So how do you decide where to go and what to do? There are many options that you can consider before going with a gap year company to help select a diving course.

First off you need to pick what agency you want to learn to learn with.

To clarify there are a couple of different training organisations that run courses. The main ones are PADI and SSI although other diving organisations like BSAC are popular also. These training body's all have similar standards so do not worry too much about the course sylabus.

To clarify the "agency" is not the same as the dive shop or dive school, as some can train people in lots of different agencies certifications. The most well known agency out there PADI.

Next you need to decide where you want to go to do your dive training. The world is a huge place with millions of unique and exciting destinations to pick from, some places have their positive aspects over others, so considerations such as price and interests of the individual will play a role.

Wanting to just get your open water on your gap year and learn to dive then, you perhaps just pick to do this where ever is easiest along the way, just be sure to factor in ample time (4 days) to do your course and be sure you are not in a planewithin 24 hours of diving, so be careful with the itinerary.

Want to spend longer perfecting your diving, then you should consider doing the Divemaster course. The Divemaster course is the most often selectedgap year diver course for significant reason. No other gap year diving programme incorporating so much dive time inclusive of the costs.
Some places are cheaper than others with Thailandrepresenting best value out of all placesto do your Divemaster, specifically the (Koh Tao Divemaster ),This does not necessarily make it the most popular, but it is still excellent.
Diving in Thailand is really popular and because of this, the marine life can suffer as a consequence, it is possible that you will see more marine life elsewhereDivemaster in the Philippines, however this is a little more expensive. It is also possible to do a divemaster course in Australia, but it is more expensive than on Asia gap year.

Want to compete your divemaster in Africa; this is a great option if you like shark diving, but bewared you can easily come up against tiger sharks and hammerheads.

Whilst this is not dangerous if you know what to expect, it can make you panic if you are not prepared to see them! A softer way of seeing great white sharks is to go shark cage diving in South Africa

Xtreme Gap Year promotes a selection ofGap year diver programmes and they are all professional divers in the office, capable of explaining all you need to know before you set out.. So if you are considering a gap year involving diving, give them a call.
